Saturn Vue Doors Wont Lock

Cannot open front doors with door lock switch in car or with key fob or with key in drivers door but rear doors will open with door lock switches read more.

My own vue had an issue where the driver s side lock switch internals were broken causing the door to unlock themselves randomly. 2002 saturn vue rear passenger door will not lock it sounds like the the linkage actuator power locks or the mechanism has broken or become dislodged. To lock the doors insert the key into the lock on the driver s door and rotate the key counterclockwise until you hear the doors lock. This will help with diagno.

You should be able to pull the liftgate trim off most of the way with the gate closed and try to manually actuate the latch to open the gate. You will need to remove the door panel with the door closed which can be done easier if you remove the seats. The hard part is getting to it and opening the liftgate to replace the latch. Locking devise seems to work and the door latch seems to be working door will not open seatbelt is not stuck in door. On the inside trim you can remove screws that are by the door handle arm rest under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don t want to break them.
